Circular economy & marble leftovers
Circular economy & marble leftovers
In marble quarrying, only a fraction of each extracted block meets the strict aesthetic and dimensional requirements for premium decorative use. As a result, substantial amounts of material often deemed unusable are dumped in residual areas.
Dereli Maden addresses this challenge through a circular economy model, transforming these leftovers into high-quality alternative sand and aggregates. This innovative process minimizes waste, preserves natural sand reserves, and significantly reduces carbon emissions, particularly in cement and concrete production.
Aligned with European sustainability goals, Dereli Maden’s approach delivers both environmental and economic benefits, further bolstering its vision. The high whiteness and purity of these repurposed marble materials also enable applications in the paper industry and baby pads, expanding the scope of sustainable resource management.
